MR. A.G. GEETH KUMARA

Director/ Chief Executive officer

Mr. Geethkumara has over 31 years of experience in plantation sector and holds a Masters from the University of Colombo. Holder of Diploma in Agriculture from Aquinas College and Diploma in Plantation Management from the National Institute of Plantation Management. He is the Former Chairman of Regional Scientific Committee of Galle District, Former Secretary of the Galle District Planters’ Association and Former Secretary of Forestry and Timber Certification Foundation. He is the current Treasurer of the Ceylon Cinnamon Geographical Indication Association.

MR. J.A.R. NISSANKA

Chief Operating Officer – Finance & IT Development

Mr. Ruwan Nissanka is a member of the institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) and holds a B.B. Mgt. (HRM. Sp) degree in Human Resources Management with a 2nd Upper pass from the University He counts more than 14 years of experience in Finance and Audit sectors. He joined with Elpitiya Plantations PLC in 2007 and currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer. He holds the membership in other professional bodies; CMA Sri Lanka and Certified Professional Managers (ACPM) of Sri Lanka.

MR. P.S. DISSANAYAKE

Chief Operating Officer - Engineering, Project Management & Business Strategies

Mr. Priyantha S Dissanayake is an engineering graduate from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, specialized in Electrical Engineering. He holds a Masters’ degree of Business Administration [MBA] from the University of Moratuwa, specialized in Information Technology. He is currently studying for a distance based MSc in Sustainable Energy Engineering of KTH University, Stockholm, Sweden. He participated for “The UN Winter School on Sustainable Consumption and Production in Asia and the Pacific”, a SWITCH Asia programme, representing Sri Lanka, in 2016. He has more than 18 years of experience after graduation, mainly in the energy sector. He has been serving to M/s Elpitiya Plantations PLC, as the Head of Engineering division since, January 2007, and Head of Business Sustainability since 2013. He has memberships of several professional bodies, namely, Institute of Engineers Sri Lanka (AMIESL), Sri Lanka Energy Managers Association (MSLEMA), Bio Energy Association of Sri Lanka (MBEASL) and Certified Professional Managers (ACPM) of Sri Lanka. Mr. Dissanayake was appointed as a Director of M/s Ceylon Agro Food Technologies (Pvt) Ltd in December 2023, which is a subsidiary Company of Elpitiya Plantations PLC.

MR. M.I. IZZADEEN

Chief Sustainability Officer

Mr. M Ishafir Izzadeen started as a Trainee Assistant Manager in 1983, and has work experience in Low, Mid, and Up country plantations with a wide knowledge of Tea, Rubber, other plantations crops, and Spice crops. He has over 34 years of experience in the plantation management, and come up with many innovations to the industry. He served as the Chief Sustainability Officer. He holds a Higher National Diploma in Plantation Management from National Institute of Plantation Management, and B.Sc. Hons. degree in Plantation Management from University of Wayamba. He has a M.Sc. degree in Plantations Crop Management from University of Peradeniya. Well blended with knowledge on practical and theoretical aspects of crop production and plantation management.

MR. L.D.N.G. NANAYAKKARA

Senior General Manager - Administration & Legal

Mr. Greshan Nanayakkara has received the Masters Degree & Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources from University of Colombo. He has also read the LLB from University of Colombo. He assumed duties at Elpitiya Plantations PLC in 2001 in Admin and Legal Section. Subsequently in the year 2007 he was appointed as Manager and in 2010 assigned with new responsibility to head the Human Resources Division. Currently he holds the Certified Professional Managers (ACPM) Membership of Sri Lanka and serves the Company as Senior General Manager – Human Resources/ Legal.

MRS. M.A.D.T.P. EDIRISINGHE

General Manager – Human Resources

Mrs. Thilini Edirisinghe, Genaral Manager – Human Resources at Elpitiya Plantations PLC, brings over two decades of experience in Human Resource Management, including eight years of specialized expertise in the retail sector. She has held key HR roles at leading Sri Lankan corporates such as the Softlogic Group and John Keells Group. A Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), she also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Labour Relations and Human Resource Management from the University of Colombo and the Professional Qualification in HRM (PQHRM) from CIPM. An alumna of Southlands College, Galle, Mrs. Edirisinghe has been with Elpitiya Plantations for over four years, contributing significantly to the company’s people strategy and HR development.

W.A A.D Vitharana joined Elpitiya Plantations in year 2019 and currently serving as a General Manager (Engineering & Projects) Designation in the Head Office.

MRS. N. WIJETUNGA

General Manager – Finance

Mrs. Nilukshi Wijetunga joined Elpitiya Plantations PLC in 2024 and currently serves as General Manager Finance, bringing with her over eight years of post qualifying experience in finance and accounting. A former student of Ladies’ College, Colombo 07 and she is an Associate Member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ACA) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK (ACCA). She is a passed finalist of the Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka (AAT). Her early career included five years of comprehensive training at two audit firms, Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers (now Deloitte) Sri Lanka specializing in audit, assurance, and tax advisory services. She also brings valuable experience from the hospitality and BPO sectors, making her a well-rounded finance professional with a broad industry perspective.

MR. M.D. JAYASHANTHA

General Manager - Marketing

Mr. Duminda Miriyagallage is an accomplished tea industry professional with over 21 years of experience, in plantation marketing, covering both local and international markets. With a strong foundation as a Tea Taster, he possesses deep expertise in sensory evaluation, market analysis, and strategic marketing, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of the tea trade landscape. His career spans the full value chain, from quality assessment and buyer engagement to brand development and market expansion. He has demonstrated the ability to lead impactful marketing initiatives, facilitate successful negotiations, and build lasting relationships across the local and international markets. A proud past pupil of Mahanama College, Colombo 03 and he holds an Executive MBA from the University of Colombo and Certified Professional Marketer (Asia) certification designation from Asia Marketing Federation. Further, he is an Associate Member of Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (AMSLIM). He joined the company as a trainee and currently serves as General Manager – Marketing, overseeing strategic initiatives in plantation-based marketing, value-added teas, and agri-business development. His operational and project management capabilities further enhance his ability to deliver value added tea solutions and achieve organizational goals.

MR. S.M.D. THALGASWATTE

General Manager - IT

S.M.D Thalgaswatte, General Manager – IT at Elpitiya Plantations PLC, plays a key role in spearheading the company's digital evolution to enhance operational efficiency and business sustainability. Mr. Thalgaswatte brings over 25 years of invaluable experience in the Plantation ICT domain, commencing his career at JRL (a pioneer in bringing software to the conventional plantation industry) and extending his expertise across various regional plantation companies. This includes a significant 15-year tenure at Pussellawa, Maturata, and Agalawatte Plantations PLC. Since joining Elpitiya Plantations in 2019, he has championed transformative ICT initiatives, introducing innovative technologies that have significantly reshaped the sector. Beyond his corporate responsibilities, he also serves as an ICT Consultant to the Plantation Human Development Trust (PHDT), contributing to their digital transformation programs. A passionate advocate for industry knowledge sharing, Mr. Thalgaswatte has been a dedicated trainer and lecturer at the National Institute of Plantation Management (NIPM) since 2008, nurturing future ICT professionals for the plantation industry.

MR. D.V. PATHIRANA

Deputy General Manager - Marketing

Mr. Darsha Pathirana joined Elpitiya Plantations PLC in 2019 and currently serves as Deputy General Manager at the Head Office. He brings over 27 years of professional experience in sales and marketing, both locally and internationally, across diverse sectors including FMCG, logistics, and the apparel industries. A proud alumnus of St. Anthony’s College, Mr. Pathirana holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK. His areas of specialization include Sales Operations Management, Business Strategy Development and Implementation, Personal Selling, Marketing, and Cross-Functional Collaboration. He has also played a pivotal role in setting up business operations and driving people development throughout his career.

Mr.Darshana Weerakoon, an accomplished professional with a BSc in Agriculture from the University of Peradeniya, brings over 23 years of expertise in the floriculture industry. As a leader in export-based floriculture, he manages operations demonstrating a strong commitment to innovation, sustainability, and global market excellence. A proud alumnus of Theldeniya Central College, Darshana’s deep-rooted agricultural knowledge and leadership continue to drive growth and quality in the industry

MR. P.D.W. WITHANAGE

Senior Manager

Mr. Pradeep Vithanage joined Elpitiya Plantations PLC in 2014 and currently serves as a Senior Manager at the Head Office. He brings with him 26 years of extensive experience in plantation management, making him a valuable asset to the company’s leadership team. An alumnus of Tissa National School, Kalutara, Mr. Vithanage holds a National Diploma in Plantation Management (NDPM) from the National Institute of Plantation Management (NIPM). His deep-rooted expertise in the planting sector has contributed significantly to operational improvements and estate performance within Elpitiya Plantations.

MR. M.A.A.S. MADAWALAARACHCHI

Senior Manager – Forestry

Mr.Asanka Madawalaarachchi brings over 19 years of industry experience, including 10+ years at Finlays Tea Estates (Pvt) Ltd and over 9 years at Elpitiya. An alumnus of Eheliyagoda Central College, he holds a BSc (Special) in Estate Management and Valuation from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and an MSc in GIS & Remote Sensing from the University of Peradeniya. Mr. Madawalaarachchi began his career as Assistant Manager – Forestry at Finlays (2005–2015), then joined Elpitiya as Manager – Forestry (2015–2022), and currently leads key initiatives in sustainability and diversified agriculture as Senior Manager. His deep expertise in forestry, geospatial technologies, and sustainable practices continues to enhance Elpitiya’s long-term environmental and operational goals.

MR H.G.C.N. SENEVIRATNE

Senior Manager - IT

MR H.G.C.N. SENEVIRATNE holds a Master of Business Administration from the PIM, University of Jayewardenepura, and a Graduate in the field of ICT from the British Computer Society. Also, he is certified in CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) from the EC Council, as well as has a diploma in Hardware Engineering and certified in Unix / Linux Administration from the University of Colombo, UCSC.

Senior Manager – Sales

Mr.Wijerathne Dunukewila,Currently serving as the Senior Manager-Sales with over 30 years of expierience in FMCG sector. He joined Elpitiya plantations PLC in 2021.He brings his professional expierence to expand the retail business in Elpitiya Plantations PLC and managed to compeete challanges in the industry and drive new revenue stream of the company.His strategic leadership has played a key role in overcoming industry challenges and unlocking new revenue opportunities, making a substantial contribution to the company’s business growth.

MR. D.H.C. SAMARANAYAKE joined Elpitiya Plantations in year 2019 and currently serving as a Manager Designation in the Head Office.

MS. M.N.S. MADURIKA

Manager - Finance

Ms. Nihara Sanduni , Manager – Finance at Elpitiya Plantations PLC, has been with the company for eight years, having joined in 2016 as a trainee in the Finance Division. She is a graduate of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura with a BSc. Accounting Special Degree and is a member of both ACCA and ACA, reflecting strong professional credentials in finance and accounting. A former student of G/Sanghamitta Balika Vidyalaya, Ms. Nihara also brings prior experience from Ernst & Young and her combination of academic excellence, audit background, and hands-on industry experience has made her a key contributor to the company’s financial leadership.

Manager -MIS & Risk

MR.T.S. PRIYANTHA is a seasoned professional with over 24 years of experience in the finance sector. A proud alumnus of Dharmapala Vidyalaya, Pannipitiya. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Business & Finance from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. He has also earned the IFC qualification from the Sri Lanka Insurance Institute and he is currently pursuing an Advanced Diploma in Insurance. He began his journey at Elpitiya Plantations PLC in 2001 as a trainee in the Finance Division and has since held several key positions within the department through his hands on experience in handling all class of insurance and expertise in plantation accounting and budgeting. Currently serving as the Manager – MIS & Risk, he brings a wealth of expertise in financial systems and risk management, playing a vital role in strengthening the company’s decision-making and operational resilience

MR.W.D.T.D. UPANANDA, an accomplished civil engineering professional, brings over six years of experience in the civil engineering industry. A proud alumnus of Harischandra National College Negombo, he holds a B.Tech (Hons.) degree in Civil Engineering from The Open University of Sri Lanka.
